Lamwyk
Lamwyk exists to break down business silos and to create a professional community who are interested in innovation and knowledge outside their immediate professional skill set. We believe in collaboration and team work. In a world getting ever more specialised we ensure that understanding context is not left behind.
The concept of Lamwyk as a company is inspired by a series of classes taught at Winchester College which are called “division” and which are designed to foster a curiosity in the pupils for all the facets of learning and knowledge, not just one specific field. The school describes it thus: “Division is at the heart of the education we offer. It defines the liberal character of Winchester’s academic life. Pupils engage in discussion and debate embracing the idea of learning for its own sake, unrestrained by any examination syllabus.”
Lamwyk aspires to achieve the same outcome for leading professionals. We open up alternative avenues thereby ensuring knowledge of fields not necessarily in their own direct expertise.
Lamwyk has three current channels to achieve this aim: a monthly commonplace “Lamwyk Journal”, regular monthly forums which have now moved to a video-call format, and a video series called “Lamwyk Digital: the one with…..”.
We seek to achieve “reach and range” in all that we do so that our community can be empowered and enthused.

Moderator & co-founder
Edward Goodchild
Ed Goodchild is a serial entrepreneur who has a passion for getting better outcomes for clients by being innovative. He contends most networking doesn’t work as they are usually based round industry groups comprising of people all offering much the same services in much the same way. Lamwyk mixes it up so that the common theme is who we each advise, which allows us to compare notes, ideas and make client introductions. Ed is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI, an FCA regulated wealth adviser to private capital, a Charity Trustee and a Liveryman of the Skinners' Company. The Lamwyk name comes from a blend of his prep school (Lambrook) and that he is a Wykehamist.
Head of research & CO-FOUNDER
Harry Claude Corbett
Harry started his City career as an inter-dealer broker in the institutional markets in the 1980s. His client book covered the London and International banks during a period of significant change. He then moved to the world of private client advice and there his client book had a focus on traders and dealers until he stepped down from that in 2016. Ed and Harry teamed up to build the Lamwyk forum series, having previously met at a Family Office event. Today Harry is the Head of Research for Lamwyk and he reaches out to our speakers, as well as building our membership. Having been brought up in the West Midlands Harry has always had an interest in making connections across the country and is passionate about life not being wholly London centric. He is also mad about trains so regular long train journeys are part of the menu.
